RM46k allocated to nine social community associations in Kuching

KUCHING: Nine social community associations here have received a total allocation of RM46,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) Phase 4 for the year 2023.

Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah officiated the presentation of the MRP cheques.

The distribution took place after a press conference following the Central Community Support Centre Advisory Board meeting at CSSC here today (Jan 17).

Each association received an allocation of RM5,000, with the exception of the Kuching Special Talents Welfare and Development Association (KATSN), which received RM6,000.

Among the recipients were the Single Mothers Association Sarawak (PITSA), Sarawak Indian Women’s Association (SIWA), Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA), Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group (SBCSG), Sarawak Gerontology and Geriatrics Society (SGGS), Kuching Cancer Advocacy and Awareness Organisation (SCAN), Management Committee of SJK Chung Hua No. 1, and the Autistic Association of Kuching (KAA).

The MRP is a government grant allocated to various parties to organise programmes or activities that contribute to the development of community welfare, particularly in Sarawak.
