KUCHING: Tupong State Assemblyman, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman has approved a RM50,000 allocation for SMK Sri Matang to build a covered walkaway for the convenience and comfort of the teachers and students in the school.

He added that he and Member of Parliament for Petra Jaya, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof also contributed RM5,000 to each of the Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) of schools in their constituencies each year.

Fazzrudin was officiating at the Annual General Meeting of the PTA of SMK Sri Matang at Jalan Matang here yesterday.

He said although the amounts were not much, they helped the PTAs to organise programmes that were beneficial to the students.

“When I asked the parents what they wanted for their children, most answered that they wanted their children to be successful in their studies,” he added.

Fazzrudin reminded those who were successful in their jobs to contribute back to the community and those in need.
