BAU: Paku Town here is set to undergo various changes in terms of development within the next two years and one of the projects planned include the upgrading of Paku Hot Spring at a cost of RM500,000.

Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh said he had allocated RM300,000 under the rural transformation programme (RTP) and RM200,000 from the Bau District Council to upgrade the hot spring pool.

According to him, the first phase of the project is the construction of footpaths and landscape beautification.

“The RM300,000 will be used to renovate the pool, toilet, roof, parking lot and ticket counter.

“We expect the pool to be open to the public next year,” he told reporters after officiating at the opening of Pasar Tamu Paku last Saturday night (Aug 29).

Apart from the hot spring, Miro said a new town will be built on 12 acres of land in Paku comprising industrial and commercial lots to drive the socio-economic development in the area.
