SARIKEI: The construction of a covered basketball court at Jalan Meranti here was completed under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), with the cost amounting to RM500,000 allocated by Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii.
A spokesperson for the Sarikei Basketball Association expressed his gratitude towards Huang for his assistance in reconstructing the basketball court which was demolished 20 years ago.
“We are very grateful to Huang for providing the basketball court,” he said.
The association also praised Huang for his support in providing annual donations and sponsorship for basketball competitions.
Furthermore, the association’s spokesperson urged the public to give their full support towards Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in improving the standard of living of the people, especially in the Repok state constituency.
“Abang Johari is a leader who cares and approves the allocation for the people,” he said.
