SIBU: A total of RM50,000 from the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) fund for the Bukit Assek constituency has been allocated to construct a car park for Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Nanga Salim.

According to Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek, the parking spaces measuring 25m × 18m will be constructed next to the recreational area behind the school, along with associated driveways.

Chieng said that the project aims to provide convenience for teachers and parents to park their vehicles.

“It will also help alleviate traffic congestion at the school,” he said on his Facebook post last Friday.

He said that the project, under the Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) as the implementing agency, is expected to take three months to complete.

“We apologise for any inconvenience experienced by residents during the construction period,” he added.
