BINTULU: Petronas, through its subsidiaries, Kumpulan Syarikat Malaysia LNG and Petronas LNG 9 Sdn Bhd, contributed RM520,000 to the Bintulu Divisional Disaster Management Committee for the use of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) laboratory at the Bintulu Divisional Health Office.

A mock cheque for the amount was presented by Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd senior manager (Technical Services) Iskandariah Roslan Abdul Wahab to Bintulu Resident and JPBBB chairman, Jack Aman Luat at the Resident’s Office compound here today.

The donation is one of Petronas’ corporate social responsibilities to cover the purchase of three units of PCR machines for the new laboratory built last April.

Recently, three Petronas subsidiaries, namely the Malaysian LNG Group of Companies, Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) and Petronas LNG 9 Sdn Bhd collectively contributed four units of laptops each to the Tatau and Sebauh District Offices.

The laptops will be used by the frontline personnel to run the Covid-19 Immunisation Programme in Sebauh district, Bintulu this month.

“We will continue to work closely with relevant government agencies as part of our commitment to improve the well-being of the community, especially in these challenging times,” Iskandariah said.

Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Bintulu Hospital deputy director Dr Sivashunmugam Sangaran and Bintulu health officer Dr Melvin Chung were also present at the handover ceremony.
