KAPIT: The RM53 million Nanga Menuan-Nanga Setepus road project will benefit nearly 3,000 people, Infrastructure and Ports Development Assistant Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi said yesterday.

The project is divided into two phases. “The first phase involves the construction of 9km of road and two bridges — Sungai Ngua Bridge and Sungai Menyama Bridge, which will connect 10 longhouses and a school in the area.

“The second phase will involve the construction of 6km of road,” he told reporters during his recent visit to the project site.

Julaihi, who is Sebuyau assemblyman, called on all residents in the area to cooperate with the project developers, Public Works Department (JKR) and related agencies to ensure that the project runs smoothly and can be completed on time.

Also present were Kapit MP Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat, Ministry of Infrastructure and Ports Development Permanent Secretary Datuk Safri Zainudin.
