KUCHING: A total of RM650,349 in compensation were given to 33 landowners who are involved in the Proposed Upgrading of Existing Village Road to SK Long Urun project.
Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon said the cheques were presented to the recipients during a brief ceremony on Thursday.
“A total of 33 recipients received their compensation in the form of cheque by the Kapit Division Land and Survey Department amounting to RM650,349.45 for this Sarawak government People’s Project.
“I feel grateful to all parties who gave good cooperation in the implementation of this project.
“I also hope that this compensation money will be used as best as possible by the recipients,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
Chukpai said the project to upgrade the village road is implemented under Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda) through its Upper Rejang Development Authority (Urda).
Also present during the ceremony at the Long Urun rural service centre (RSC) was Sungai Asap administrative officer Kuba Lusat.
