MIRI: Miri Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) seized Methamphetamine (Syabu) and cannabis worth RM7,225 from a local man during a raid conducted on Tuesday night at Taman Ceria, Permyjaya.

Miri Police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari said the suspect, 45, was detained inside a car in front of a house around 7pm.

During a check, the NCID team led by Inspector Mohamed Basheer A G Sulaiman found two packets containing a crystalline substance believed to be Syabu and another packet containing dried leaves (cannabis). The two packets were concealed inside a cough drop package.

Both substances are estimated to weigh around 83g.

Hakemal added prior to the arrest, Miri NCID observed the suspect for five days.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had been involved in the selling of drugs for almost nine years.

“His clients would contact him whenever they need the supply,” he said.

ACP Hakemal said the case would be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
