KUCHING: The Miri Country Music Fest (MCMF) organisers have announced a special festival ticket promotion exclusively for Indonesian citizens living and working in Sarawak in conjunction with Indonesia’s 77th independence anniversary.
The MCMF Dirgahayu Republik Indonesia RM77 promotion is effective from Aug 27 – Sept 27 with the special tickets being sold only at the office of Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Kuching located at Menara MAA (Lot 86 Section 53, Jalan Central Timur Kuching.)
Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia His Excellency Raden Sigit Witjaksono said there is a large Indonesian fanbase for country music.
With Tantowi Yahya headlining MCMF this year, he pointed out that Indonesians will be thrilled to see a beloved singer from their home country performing in Sarawak.
“Attending MCMF will be a great reward and entertainment for all their hard work and sacrifice being away from their homeland,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Meanwhile, chief executive officer of Place Borneo Sdn Bhd and organiser of the music festival Mona Abdul Manap said with the MCMF Dirgahayu Republik Indonesia RM77 promotion, she hopes Indonesian friends and families in Sarawak can take some time off to have fun at MCMF.
“Of course, they can also explore what Miri has to offer. Other than Tantowi Yahya, MCMF 2022 will also feature Ramon Cedillo from Singapore, Cambodia Country Band from US and Cambodia, Johnny Loda Trio from Italy, UK and Thailand and more,” she said.
The MCMF is expected to attract 2,000 people to the event venue Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club Miri.
