SIMANGGANG: A Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM80,000 was given to 17 Village Security and Development Commitees (JKKKs) and Malay organisations here in Bandar Sri Aman under the Simanggang constituency.

Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis handed over the grants when visiting the Malay community village chiefs, head of associations, and director of organisations here on Monday.

During his brief speech, Francis approved a donation of five cows to selected mosques and surau here in celebration of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha, which would be held in late July.

Francis, who is also Assistant Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women Family, and Childhood Development, during his visit, also reminded the village chiefs and head of associations to continue providing their loyalty to the Sarawak government under the leadership of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as the authority to appoint the post of community leaders, village heads, kapitans, and tuai rumah.
