KUCHING: A sum of about RM830,000 has been invested by Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii in healthcare in his constituency alone, since his last term as MP.

He said that before Parliament dissolved in November, his office allocated funds to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) to purchase non-medical equipment to improve and enhance the environment of the hospital.

鄭fter the 15th general election (GE15), I managed a visit to SGH and understand that more than 100 units of three-person waiting chairs (long-chair) allocated by my office had been installed and used.

滴ealthcare is something close to my heart and something that I have been championing since I was elected.

擢rom the last term as MP, I have invested a sum of about RM830,000 in healthcare in my constituency alone,・ he said in a Facebook post on Friday (Dec 9).

He believed it was important to ensure the people in Bandar Kuching get the best available quality of care.

徹ne of the ways to improve this is to improve the facilities and help take care of the welfare of the healthcare staff.

展ith that, the best services can be provided even to the poor and most vulnerable efficiently, thus increasing the quality of care for the people.

溺edical staff are not just the front line but also the last defence line of society. That is why we must ensure that their welfare is protected.”
