RM974K multipurpose hall ready

KUCHING: A multipurpose hall costing RM974,000 has been constructed in Taman Yen Yen, Matang under the rural transformation programme (RTP).

According to Public Works Department (PWD) civil engineer and project officer Sandra Jujane Jutim, the project was completed ahead of schedule.

“Construction work started on April 16 last year and was expected to be completed on March 16 this year, but we are able to finish it earlier today (yesterday).”

She said this when handing over of the project report to Taman Yen Yen Recreational Club represented by its chairman Wan Abdullah Tengku Bidin at the new building, yesterday.

The building houses two badminton courts, stage, toilets, audio and utility room, as well as electrical facility.

Wan Abdullah expressed gratitude for the completion of the multipurpose hall which will enable residents to hold recreational activities and social gatherings to unite the local community especially the youth in the residential area.

“This multipurpose hall will benefit the people not only in Taman Yen Yen, but also Taman Lee Ling, Taman Sri Perkasa and Taman Sri Matang,” he said.
