SIBU: Rejang Medical Centre (RMC) is embarking on an ambitious expansion project with the construction of a new hospital.

RMC Managing Director Dr John Tang Ing Ching said this year marks the commencement of the construction of the new Rejang Medical Centre, a state-of-the-art hospital boasting a capacity of two hundred beds.

“A two hundred-bed state-of-the-art hospital that will prepare us to face the challenges for the next 21 years for the people of Sibu and beyond,” he said.

He said this in his welcoming speech at the RMC 21st-anniversary celebration at a renowned hotel here last night (Sept 30).

Meanwhile, Dr Peter Tang Ing Binga, pioneer at RMC, said RMC has continued to expand its services and facilities throughout its years of service.

“We became a working horse, with relentless effort to improve our services. We became the first in Sarawak to digitalise our Radiology department with Computed Radiography (CR).

“We set up our own full laboratory with Blood bank support and established ourselves as one of the biggest private labs set up in central Sarawak.

“We also set up one of the biggest private Hemodialysis centres in Sarawak with close to 150 patients. What does the future hold?” he questioned.
