RMCO violation: 12 arrested at pub

Twelve suspects arrested in a pub at Lorong Pahlawan 7E for violating RMCO, last Wednesday night (July 1).

SIBU: Twelve local suspects were detained for violating recovery movement control order (RMCO) in a raid at a pub on Wednesday night (July 1).

Sibu district deputy police chief Supt Collin Babat said that the suspects comprising nine males and three females, aged between 20 and 59 years old were, arrested at a pub at Lorong Pahlawan 7E.

“A team of movement control order (MCO) enforcement police team raided the karaoke and pub around 9.15pm.

“During the arrest, all suspects were indulging themselves in karaoke session and were mostly intoxicated,” he said in a statement.

Sibu Central Police Station issued compounds to all 12 suspects for the offence.

Further investigation has found that the group has committed an offence under Section 3 (No.7) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measure Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulation 2020.
