SARIKEI: Several routes on Jalan Repok near the Pinang Laka junction will be temporarily closed from today until Sept 23.
Sarikei District Council (MDS) in a statement said the closure is to facilitate maintenance and road upgrading works, including embankment construction.
It explained that the affected routes include Jalan Pinang Laka, Jalan Kelapa and Jalan Rumbia.
MDS also advised road users to use alternative routes such as Jalan Nyelong By Pass (Route 1) to replace the aforementioned three roads.
For areas involving Jalan Rejang, Jalan Ubah, Jalan Su Mee and Jalan Tai Seng, road users are recommended to use Jalan Permai (Route 2) as an alternative.
MDS also informed that if weather conditions do not permit the planned works to proceed, the road closure will be postponed until further notice.
