Road closures, detours for Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia do

KUCHING: Some roads to Kuching Waterfront will be closed and detours set up for the Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia event.

In a statement today, Kuching OCPD ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the temporary road closures and detours would begin from Thursday to Feb 25 (next Friday).

“During these days, the organiser will set up tents and equipment for the event.

“Jalan Main Bazaar and Jalan Gambier will be closed on Feb 26 starting 6.30am until the event is finished, which is Feb 27.”

He also said traffic police would be on duty during the event proper.

The public wishing to go to the event are advised to park along the left side of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Poliklinik in Jalan Masjid and the Jalan Khoo Hun Yeang car park, Bangunan Saujana and Reservoir Park.

“Parking spaces along the left side of Jalan Main Bazaar towards Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg will be cleared on Feb 26 from 6.30am for the event.

“Vehicles coming from Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman are to move ahead to Jalan Ban Hock or Jalan McDougall to avoid congestion in Jalan Main Bazaar.

“Vehicles from Jalan Haji Taha can make a U-turn at the Masjid Bahagian roundabout to avoid congestion in Jalan Gambier.”

The Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia event is from Feb 24 to 27 and will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Feb 26.
