KUCHING: A road connecting Kampung Suba Bau to the opposite side of the famous Wind Cave in Bau will be constructed soon this year.

According to Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, the road construction is a project under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP), which aims to open up more rural areas so that locals can start to cultivate their idle land.

“This proposed road is suggested by locals there and we agreed to construct it,” he said on Friday (July 24).

He said the road would be 2km long as the existing gravel road in Suba Bau needed to be upgraded as well.

“The plan is also to build two bailey bridges, one at Wind Cave connecting Taiton to Suba Bau in between Suba Bian and another one connecting Kampung Tasik Biru,” he said.

He said before these bridges could be built, the road must be there first.

“For these two bridges to be constructed we need to do the farm roads so that once we want to build the bridges, it will be more convenient in terms of logistics and access,” he pointed out.
