Road construction expected done within six months

BINTULU: The ongoing road construction at Rumah Taa, Nanga Seda Kakus, Tatau is now at 40 per cent completion, and expected to be fully completed within six months.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the road covers a distance of 5.8km and is fully funded via forest concession fund in 2021.

Recently, Minister in the Premier of Sarawak’s Department, Datuk John Sikie Tayai who is also Kakus assemblyman, conducted a working visit to the site.

He also went to Rumah Robert Nuing in Ulu Kakus , and announced a Rural Transformation Project (RTP)  worth RM700,000 to upgrade the road heading towards the longhouse.

Sikie also announced a minor rural project (MRP) grant worth at RM50,000 village development and security committee (JKKK)’s Tuai Rumah Robert Nuing.

Meanwhile, during his brief visit to Rumah Layang, Lubok Ladong,Ulu Kakus, Sikie also proposed the construction of road from the longhouse to Penyarai , covering a distance of 16km.

This construction is to include a bridge crossing over Sungai Kakus.
