BINTULU: Repair work on the collapsed part of Jalan Bakeri Ting will be fully completed within two weeks, said Tanjung Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang.
He said repairs would take time and contractors had been instructed to build a temporary access road to Tanjung Batu.
“I gave them three days to build a temporary access road to Tanjung Batu. I will follow up with them closely,” he said after surveying the collapsed road at Jalan Bakeri Ting, yesterday.
Pang said that certain sections of the road had collapsed due to erosion and that it usually accommodates traffic congestion towards the Tanjung Batu and Kidurong areas.
There is currently a drainage construction project being carried out in the area.
“For safety reasons, I have asked them to install more traffic lights especially at night to warn road users that the road is temporarily closed so that they can use alternative roads,” he said.
He also reminded the contractor to carry out the repair works efficiently to avoid affecting public safety.
