DALAT:  Kampung Klid, the farthest village in Dalat constituency and a primary school in the area will soon be connected to this town when the proposed 11.5km Jalan Kampung Medong/Lebrasau/Kampung Klid is completed by the end of next year.

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said the RM44.4 million project commenced construction on April 6 last year. Work is currently behind schedule due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nevertheless, she assured that the contractor, Avos (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd had promised to speed up its construction in order to finish on schedule.

“The people in Kampung Klid have very high hope for this much-awaited project because currently the only mode of transport to reach the village from the bazaar is by river (Batang Oya),” she said during a visit to monitor the progress of the project here today (March 24).

Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman, added the road would be very useful to the local people and others especially the teachers and staff of SK Kampung Klid who regularly travelled to and from the school.
