Roadblocks to enforce CMCO restrictions

MIRI: In line with Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) decision on January 11, the conditional movement control order (CMCO) is going to be implemented for Zone Miri starting tomorrow.

Roadblocks will be set up between areas in green zones including Marudi, Subis as well as Telang Usan and yellow zone (Beluru) and the northern region’s sole red zone Miri. These are meant to control the movement of people between the green, yellow and red zones, said minister in-charge for Miri Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) Datuk Lee Kim Shin today.

These roadblocks are placed at Jalan Nyalau, Subis; Suai; in front of SMK Agama Miri; Jalan Lambir, Miri;  Sungai Tujuh, Miri; Sungai Selepin, Beluru and Ferry Point in Marudi.

Those wishing to apply for police permit to travel from green and yellow zones to red zone and vice-versa are advised to apply for it at the following stations namely Miri Central Police Station; Lutong Police Station; Miri Airport Police Station; Tanjung Lobang Police Station; Beluru Police Station; Marudi Police Station, Long Lama Police Station; Bekenu Police Station and Niah Police Station.

Four more longhouses in Bakong, here were directed to undergo lockdown for 14 days effective today.

These longhouses concerned are Rumah Apol Alam, Sungai Liam Libau Bakong; Rumah Chabu Makom, Lepong ajai, Sungai Liam; Rumah Anthony Ladi, Sungai Lepong Liam and Rumah Justine Manai, Sungai Entulang in Bakong.

Members of the community are advised to strictly comply with and adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CMCO set up by the National Safety Council (MKN) and SDMC.
