KUALA LUMPUR: Several roads around Pulau Langkawi will be closed in stages today to make way for the eighth and final stage of the prestigious cycling tournament – Petronas Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2019.

The race’s organiser, Human Voyage Sdn Bhd, in a statement today said the closures were to ensure smooth traffic control during the race from Dataran Lang to Kuah.

According to the statement, the closures would begin at 1.30 pm, enforced and managed by the police’s traffic division for all types of vehicles.

“Members of the public and cycling enthusiasts who intend to witness the race or participate in ancillary activities are advised to plan early and use alternative routes or public transport as well as comply with the directives of the traffic police and road signages for safety purposes and enabling smooth traffic flow,” said the statement.
