KUCHING: Kampung Biya Jaber, Jalan Puncak Borneo will finally have roads after waiting for 30 years.

Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin said that the village’s roads would be constructed after the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Office has approved the project.

“The new project is in the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) in the Rural Road Programme (JALB) under the Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB).

“This project was brought up by me since Dec 4, 2018 and it will become reality,” he said in his Facebook page on Friday.

The four-kilometre road project will be carried out according to a specification of Public Works Department (PWD) with a ceiling cost of RM24 million.

At the moment, Willie said that KPLB was in the process of appointing PWD as the implementing agency after receiving the AP182 exemption approval from PWD Malaysia.

The MP expressed his gratitude to departments and agencies and pledged to continue bringing in more large scale projects into the Puncak Borneo areas.
