Nyurak inaugurated the Pro-Dr 8th Series Roadshow Programme at NAIM Paragon Mall Bintulu on Monday.

BINTULU: Students, especially SPM and STPM graduates, are encouraged to explore the Project of Dreams Realised (Pro-Dr) Tour to learn about educational opportunities, training and government funding.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development, Datuk Majang Renggi, said the roadshow is the ideal platform to update rural communities on educational opportunities.

“Education bridges progress in a country. More knowledge equals better job prospects and improvement in the socio-economic status of a family.

“For SPM and STPM graduates, they have the opportunity to choose a course or field of education that suits their qualifications and interests so that they can make the right decision,” he said while officiating at the Project of Dream Realised (Pro-Dr) Eighth Series Tour 2023 at NAIM Paragon Mall, here, on today.

Majang was represented by Resident of Bintulu Division, Nyurak Keti.

He emphasised the importance of matching exam results with preferred study programmes and higher education institutions.

“Failure to address this matter seriously could lead to the candidate choosing the wrong study programme and encountering difficulties in understanding the true nature of their studies,” he said.

Majang also emphasised the vital role of parents and counselors in shaping children’s future.

In the end, the choice however rests with the candidate or the children themselves, he said, adding it is crucial for them to be proactive in seeking out admission information, rather than relying solely on family or school counselors.

Bintulu is the tenth stop for the roadshow, which educates locals, especially students and youth, about educational opportunities in the area.

District Officer Muhammad Dino Amid, District Deputy Education Officer Syahrul Sallamun, TEGAS Innovative Community Learning (TCIL) Senior Manager Fredick Kevin Buseli and Bintulu Socso Office manager Jimmy Hendrick Kijon were among those present.
