KUCHING: Police arrested a suspect on Thursday night at Jalan Market who robbed a shop assistant recently. The suspect had gone to a gold jewelry shop at the said road on pretext of buying a gold necklace valued at RM 8,300 recently at 2pm.

Upon getting hold of the necklace, the man fled in a waiting car. Initial investigation revealed that the suspect who was detained had 11 criminal records. Police are still looking for the second suspect (the car driver). Kuching police chief ACP Abang Ahmad Julai confirmed the arrest.
