Rohani is Special Advisor to CM

KUCHING: Batang Lupar MP Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim has been appointed as Special Advisor to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah disclosed this during the PBB Women Supreme Council meeting at its headquarters on Saturday.

On the appointment, Rohani said she was appointed in May and she will assist Abang Johari to look into matters relating to the state.

“This post was actually held by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) secretary-general Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi. But now he is the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP).

“Therefore, I was appointed for the special advisor’s post,” she told reporters after attending the PBB Women Supreme Council meeting.

She said that the chief minister will instruct her to check on important matters from time to time.

“He (Abang Johari) did mentioned to look into areas concerning the rural areas, the community and others,” she said.

Rohani added that although her appointment was in May, she was unable to move around due the movement control orders.

“With less restriction now, it will be easier and I will do my best to assist and deliver my best on tasks given to me,” she said.
