KUALA LUMPUR: The Finance Ministry yesterday announced that the retail price of RON97 petrol will come down two sen to RM2.68 per litre while petrol prices for RON95 and diesel will remain unchanged at RM2.08 per litre and RM2.18 per litre from May 18 to May 24.

The ministry in a statement said that the unchanged retail prices for RON95 and diesel was in line with the government’s decision to stabilise fuel prices to alleviate the people’s cost of living.

Based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), the retail prices of RON95 and diesel were to be RM2.38 per litre and RM2.45 per litre respectively.

The ministry said it cost the government RM99.19 million to subsidise RON95 and diesel for the price week of May 18 to 24. – Bernama
