KUALA LUMPUR: The retail price of RON97 petrol goes down by 22 sen to RM2.41 per litre while petrol prices for RON95 and diesel remain unchanged, at RM2.08 per litre and RM2.18 per litre, from June 15-21.
Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng in a statement here yesterday said the prices of the three fuels will revert back to weekly from this week based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism after being held at the same level for two weeks due the Aidilfitri festive season.
The two digits drop for RON97 was due to a dip in the price of refined products in the world market following a drop in the price of Brent crude last week, he said.
Based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) the retail prices of RON95 and diesel were to be RM2.11 per litre and RM2.19 per litre respectively.
Lim added that the retail prices of RON95 and diesel were being maintained to stabilise fuel prices and address cost of living issues. – Bernama
