RTM draws up plans for 227 programmes

KUCHING: A total of 227 small, medium and large scale programmes have been planned by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) for next year.

Broadcasting director-general Datuk Suhaimi Sulaiman said some of the large scale programmes that will be held are the Konsert EVO70 in conjunction with Sambutan Jubli Platinum: 70 Tahun Radio Sarawak.

“Apart from that, of course the iconic Sarawak programme which is Bintang P.Ramlee and Bintang Kecil will also be held.

“For Bintang Kecil, the entry is not only limited to Malaysia, but will involve participation from Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei,” he said during “A Night To Remember” appreciation ceremony here on Monday (Nov 27).

On another note, Suhaimi added that RTM Sarawak will be involved with the Mukun SeBorneo 2024 programme, which involves participation from Brunei and Indonesia.

“To me, this is a great platform for us to extend our marketing campaign to other countries.

“And at the same time, we will strengthen our relationship, along with creating elements of unity in the arts,” he added.

During the ‘A Night To Remember’ celebration, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah who officiated at the event also handed over certificates to some of RTM’s strategic partners.

Unit Promosi, Pemasaran dan Kawal Selia RTM Sarawak also received a total of RM10,000 from Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and UKAS) Datuk Abdullah Saidol.

Also present was Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment adviser Datuk Sri Mohd Naroden Majais.
