KUCHING: In this era where many entrepreneurs are choosing to market their products online, it should be kept in mind that marketing via television and radio has its own strengths as well.
Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Sarawak TV engineering section chief assistant director Norjihan Yahya said that marketing via television and radio added to the confidence of buyers that the products were of quality and more trusted.
“RTM plays a vital role in ensuring that product information is presented to the community quickly and accurately,” she said at the ‘RTM with Synergy Partners’ 2019/2020 session at RTM here yesterday.
She said that as the nation’s broadcast industry leader, RTM especially through its radio channels in multiple languages could now be heard in all corners of Sarawak.
“Therefore, entrepreneurs and local businesses should make RTM their main choice and make full use of it to promote their respective products by purchasing broadcast slots,” she said.
Giving an example, Norjihan said that one of their programmes, ‘Joh Bermukun’, which was aired every week via SARAWAKfm had received a great response of over 180,000 viewers during the live broadcast on SARAWAKfm’s Facebook.
“Meanwhile, Anugerah Carta Sapa Juara 2019 which was aired on WAIfm Iban’s Facebook has now achieved 573,000 viewers,” she said.
Commending the session, she said, “Such efforts create a close relationship between RTM and its partners to promote various initiatives, products, and services offered via RTM’s channels, to be presented to the general public.”
She said that RTM encouraged new advertisers and sponsors to partner with them.
The key objectives of the function were to build relationships and cooperation between RTM officers and sponsors as well as being a platform for RTM officers and sponsors to exchange views and ideas to produce more attractive programmes.
According to Norjihan, RTM would be carrying out various programmes this year, including Program Jelajah Ramadhan, Program Aspirasi Merdeka, and Program Sehati @ RTM.
During the session, Saratok MP and Krian assemblyman Ali Biju as well as RTM advertisers and sponsors were presented with certificates of appreciation.
