KUCHING: The Batu Danau constituency is enjoying widespread development with the introduction of the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), said its assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang.
He said the programme has resolved a lot of problems faced by the local community and made a huge impact in terms of infrastructure development in Batu Danau.
“Since RTP was implemented six years ago, the constituency has received more than RM40 million to carry out development projects such as cementing roads to every house, construction of infrastructures such as bridges, culverts and so on,” he said when officiating at the ‘Sembang Santai Pengguna’ programme in Tanjong Riman hall, Limbang on Saturday (Nov 28).
Commenting on the programme, the assemblyman hoped that the participants will be able to help the rest of the community in terms of resolving various social problems.
Paulus also said the state government has allocated RM2 million to elected representatives to be distributed to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for them to run programmes and activities.
Also present were Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) Limbang branch head Pulnama Tarah, Limbang Parliamentary Consumerism Coordinator (PKP) Roszuina Labet, Limbang National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) Prevention Unit head Wong Hui Siew, Limbang Division Commercial Crime Department Inspector Mohd Hanif Sukri and Councillor Maria Radu.
