KOTA SAMARAHAN: Local MP Datuk Rubiah Wang has handed over Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants totalling RM871,000 to 126 recipients in the Muara Tuang constituency.

Among the recipients are the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs), Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), school management boards as well as village clubs and associations.

Rubiah, who is Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development said the grants are allocated to enhance social activities, including increasing community involvement to empower organisations, associations, village committees.

It is also meant for the implementation of small projects in their respective areas, she said.

At the event Rubiah, meanwhile, also urged everyone to encourage their children to consider Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as an option for further education.

This, she emphasised, would prepare the youth with a comprehensive set of skills, enabling them to remain competitive in their chosen industries in the future.
