Chieng hands over MRP grants to Masjid Al-Muhajirin, Masjid Al-Anshar, Jawatankuasa Kemajuan dan Keselamatan Kampung (JKKK) Kampung Usahajaya Baru and Komuniti Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Kampung Usahajaya Baru Fasa II.

SIBU: Four organisations in Bukit Assek constituency received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants from assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek.

The recipients were Masjid Al-Muhajirin Mosque, Masjid Al-Anshar, the village development and security committee (JKKK) of Kampung Usahajaya Baru and Komuniti Rukun Tetangga (KRT) Kampung Usahajaya Baru Fasa II.

Chieng said the grants were handed over early to enable the organisations to identify and help the less fortunate in view of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

“Since this is the holy month of fasting for our Muslim friends, we wanted to hand over the grants so that those who are less fortunate can be identified and given the assistance for them to celebrate Hari Raya.

“This is my intention, thus we handed over the MRP grants early so the organisations can do this as soon as possible,” he said in a news reported by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).

The handover was held at Masjid Al-Muhajirin, Kampung Usahajaya Baru here on Tuesday (April 12).
