SIBU: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Pelawan Youth Section will organise the ‘722 Run for Sarawak’ at the Sibu Town Square Phase II here on 22 July.
Its organising chairman Ling Zing Kai invited the people of Sibu and those interested to participate in the run to show their love for Sarawak.
He added that the run is divided into three categories namely Men’s Open (7.22km), Women’s Open (7.22km) and family (722 metres).
“For the family category, the participants are only allowed to bring one or two family members and children aged 12 years and below must be accompanied by their parents.
“The flagging-off for the Men’s and Women’s Open category will be held at 7.22am while the family category is at 8am. The venue is at Sibu Town Square Phase II.
“We are targeting 1,000 people to participate in the run. Thus, we invite the people of Sibu to join in to add merriment to the event,” he said at a press conference held at SUPP Sibu office here, yesterday.
Also present were Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Michael Tiang and SUPP members.
The registration forms are obtainable at SUPP Sibu Office at Kampung Datu and the registration fee is RM50 per participant.
Those who have paid their registration fee will receive a t-shirt, a medal and an opportunity to win one of the 30 attractive prizes in a lucky draw.
The top three winners of the Men’s Open and Women’s Open categories will each receive RM722, RM500 and RM300, respectively.
The fourth to sixth prize winners will each receive RM100 while the top six winners of the family category will each receive a prize in the form of a hamper.
The closing date for registration is 7 July.
