Rural projects in Bukit Begunan completed

SRI AMAN: Several projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) in Bukit Begunan constituency have reached their full completion.

Works to upgrade the local community hall, Rh. Rose Jipon and gravity water supply project in Sungai Labi, Pantu have cost RM100,000, RM150,000 and RM40,000 respectively.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang officiated at the handover ceremony of the projects at Datuk Mong Hall here yesterday.

This year, he said he would be focusing on the schools development here.

“My intention is to see the children in Bukit Begunan constituency get the highest level of education.

“I would like to continue to see academic success, particularly at SMK Melugu,” he added.

At the same time, Mong also announced an RTP allocation of RM100,000 to upgrade the Datuk Mong Hall’s kitchen as well as a minor rural project (MRP) allocation of RM8,000 for the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Rh. Rose Jipon, including RM4,000 for the women’s bureau of the longhouse.

Also present were SMK Melugu Principal Beritin Empawi, Penghulu Bangga Rigeh, Penghulu Menjang Niah, Penghulu Jiram Sampek, Penghulu Lee Thong Sen, Tuai Rumah Rose Jipon, Councillor Stie Bidu and Councillor Majing Rimbau.
