TELANG USAN: Sarawakians are blessed to have three important occasions for them to celebrate and be part nation building, said Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.

“These three celebrations are Sarawak Day on July 22, National Day (Hari Kebangsaan) on August 31 and Malaysia Day on September 22,” he explained.

Dennis said this at the launch of Hari Kebangsaan 2019 celebration organised by Long Pilah JKKK, Kemas, Rela, Bomba Volunteers, PBB Long Pilah Women and SK Long Pilah Parent-Teacher Association yesterday.

More than 500 Long Pilah residents took part in the event.

“I admire the teamwork among all these registered bodies in your village where you choose to unite and organise this very meaningful celebration not only this year but for the last 10 years, the only longhouse I know which carry out such activity,” he said.

He urged other longhouses and community in Telang Usan to undertake similar programme as a platform to foster unity and also to enable the younger generation to occasionally return to the village.
