MOSCOW: Russian forces again launched more than two dozen drone attacks across Ukraine overnight, Ukrainian authorities said on Wednesday morning, reported news agency dpa.

A total of 26 drones were launched from the Bryansk region and the eastern shore of the Sea of Azov, according to the Ukrainian military’s general staff. Air defences intercepted 21 of the drones, including all those aimed at the capital Kyiv, it said.

The attacks struck targets, including an oil storage facility in the central Kirovohrad region near the regional capital of Kropyvnytskyi, regional governor Andriy Raikovitch said on Telegram.

“There were no victims. All emergency services acted quickly.”

The eastern Dnipropetrovsk region was also the target of attacks. Seven missiles were shot down, according to regional authorities, but one damaged an administration building and caused a fire there.

The governor of the southern Ukrainian region of Mykolaiv, Vitaly Kim, also reported two drones attacks. One was shot down, the second hit a residential house, he said. The fire was quickly extinguished and there were no victims, Kim wrote on Telegram. – BERNAMA-dpa
