SABA re-activates Boxing Devt Centre in Betong

BETONG: As an initial step to produce back-up talents, Sarawak State Boxing Association (SABA) re-activate the Boxing Development Centre based in Betong.

SABA president, Dato Rahman Lariwoo said the government is committed to produce a line of new potential boxers.

Dato Rahman hoped with the Boxing Development Centre not only give guidance to the boxer but allso becomes a platform for boxers who are on the list to prepare for Sukma 2017.

“This boxing development centre is managed by former coach, Fred Mandagi and training session has begun on March 1,” said Dato Rahman.

Meanwhile, Fred Mandagi said there are currently 11 young boxers who appear in this camp (SABA Boxing Development Centre).

“The training is carried out five days a week, from Monday to Friday and starts from 3.00pm to 5.30pm which started from March 1,” said Fred.

According to Fred, of the boxers, three of them, namely Ringkai Ak Steven (56kg), Brandan Ramping Ak Nikolas (69kg) and Maklyn Nyanggau Ak Kanang (52kg) are among the athletes in the Sukma 2018 list.
