KUCHING: The Association of Ministers’ and Assistant Ministers’ Wives Sarawak (Sabati) will continue to channel assistance to people in need, including those affected by disasters.

Sabati treasurer Datin Siti Shorgayah Zaiden stated this yesterday at the presentation of monetary aid to fire victims at Sabati’s office at Wisma Sultan Tengah.

“We hope this contribution will be able to help the families,” she added.

Siti Shorgayah explained that Sabati had been providing assistance to the community since its inception 37 years ago.

“We will continue to help the community regardless of race and religion,” she said.

The cheques were presented by Sabati’s president Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, who is the Chief Minister’s wife, to Kampung Sourabaya Ulu headman Nazri Abdul Rahman, who received on behalf of fire victim Joseph Muhd Bujang.

Other recipients were Mohd Napiah Abu Bakar, Siti Aida Ismail, Mohd Sah Mahrup and Mohammad Yusuf Abu Bakar.
