MIRI: One hundred less fortunate recipients from Senadin Constituency received food baskets from Sarawak Badan Amal Tenaga Isteri-isteri (Sabati) on Sunday afternoon.
Datin Christina Kong Sui Lin, wife of Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin, presented the food baskets to the recipients at the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Senadin branch.
The simple handing over ceremony was witnessed by Lee who is also Senadin assemblyman.
Also present were Cr Yap Siew Jin, chairman of the Women Section, SUPP Senadin branch.
Sabati focuses on assisting those in need and the less fortunate, especially women and children.
Its president is Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tunku Bujang, wife of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
