KUCHING: A total of 74 recipients from Samarahan Community-based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) received Raya donations through Semai Bakti Programme at the centre, yesterday.
Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Amar Dato Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang was given the honour to present the donations to the recipients.
The programme was organised by the Charitable and Welfare of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti) in collaboration with Giant company.
“The programme was held with the objective to foster the spirit of helping and concern to the disabled community in our society,
“Hopefully the donation could cheer them a bit in sharing the joy of Hari Raya celebration,
“These special people (the disabled) also have feelings and emotions, therefore, they need love and concern from family members, relatives, and friends,” said Juma’ani during her speech at the event.
Also present at the ceremony were Sabati Deputy President Datin Amar Doreen Mayang Uggah, its Secretary Datin Dr Zaliha Abdullah, Treasurer of Sabati, Hajah Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin, and other Sabati members.
