KUCHING: Saberkas Satok branch organised an ‘Ibadah Qurban’ programme together with Masjid Aqsa in Kampung Segudup here.

This programme is held in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration last Friday.

Mohammad Akram Mohammed Karim

Saberkas Satok branch chairman Mohammad Akram Mohammed Karim said the purpose of the programme is so that the youth in the area are able to learn the right way of performing the ritual slaughter and to understand the meaning of the celebration.

“We also follow the guideline set by the state Islamic Affairs Department Sarawak (Jais) on how to perform the ritual properly,” he told reporters at Kampung Segedup on Sunday.

Ismail Mohd Idris

According to Saberkas Satok branch deputy chairman Ismail Mohd Idris, the meat was distributed to the villagers of Kampung Segudup and those in need.

In another development, Saberkas is aware of the problems youth face during Covid-19 and hopes that they could find temporary employment in services such as Grab or Foodpanda.
