SIBU: Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) remains dedicated to the empowerment of young individuals through its diverse range of programmes, said its secretary-general Safiee Ahmad.

Safiee, who is also the Daro assemblyman, emphasised the importance of enabling youth in all dimensions and recognising their distinct talents and passions.

Consequently, SABERKAS is steadfast in its commitment to fulfilling the needs of these young people.

“This is our role in SABERKAS; we provide opportunities or platforms for our youths to be involved in whatever field that they are passionate about.

“We have various programmes targeting different fields, such as agriculture today. We have workshops and courses on other sectors such as IT, sports, the digital economy, and so forth,” said Safiee, representing Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah at the closing ceremony of the Central Zone Fertigation in Agriculture Course at SK Agama Sibu here yesterday (Aug 19).

The programme was one of 700 initiatives for youth in conjunction with SABERKAS’ Golden Jubilee celebration, which commenced last year and is set to conclude by the end of 2023.

A total of 60 youths participated in the course.

Safiee also underscored SABERKAS’ track record of nurturing leaders, expressing the organisation’s ongoing dedication to this endeavour.

“Although SABERKAS is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) and has faced lots of obstacles, that does not prevent us from organising events to empower the youth,” he said.

Also present was political secretary to the Premier Sayed Azmee Wan Junaidi, representing Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee.
