KUCHING: The Saberkas Run 2019 is officially returning on Sept 15.

This was announced by Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah during a press conference held at Baitulmakmur Building in Petra Jaya yesterday.

The run, organised by the Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry (MTACYS) with UCSI University and Sarawak Research Society (SRS), is themed ‘Today for Tomorrow – Sayang Sarawak’ in conjunction with Malaysia Day (Sept 16).

Over 3,000 people are expected to participate in this programme as the run aims to promote unity and diversity among local communities and will be held at the compound of the Old State Legislative Assembly building here.

There are three categories for the run, namely Unity Run (7km), Family Run (3km) and VIP walk (1km).

The registration fee for the first category is priced at RM50, while the Family Run is priced at RM30 (adult) and RM20 (children).

For every registration made, participants will each receive a goodie bag containing a Saberkas Run 2019 T-shirt, vouchers, souvenirs and also a finisher’s medal upon crossing the finish line.

Registration closes on August 15.

Saberkas organises various events like the Saberkas Run 1996, International Run 1999, and International Marathon 2006.
