“This year’s Agrofest will coincide with the 2024 Sarawak Day celebration and the 100th anniversary of the Sarawak Department of Agriculture.

“Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, will officiate at the event on July 12,” he said at a press conference held at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today (May 23).

He added the main objective of SAF2024 is to promote the agriculture and agro-based industry, providing a platform to attract investors and enhance youth participation.

Key sections include Sarawak Agrofest and DOA 100 Years Celebration Pavilion, AgroTrade, AgroFresh, AgroTech, Agrolnput, Smart Farming, Peladang e-Shop, Sarawak Aqua, Vet Zoo and Sarawak Kitchen (Halal & Non-Halal).

The festival, he said, would also provide opportunities for networking, business matching, and cooperation to enhance the agricultural supply and value chain.

Activities include product presentations, launches, agro-product promotions, demonstrations, competitions, the Anugerah Peladang 2024 and also various entertainments during the event.

In conjunction with SAF2024, M-FICORD and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) will host the 2nd Congress on Agriculture and Food Security (COSAFS) from July 10 to 12 at Parkcity Everly Hotel, Bintulu.
