MUKAH: The new airport project has successfully achieved 500,000 safe man-hours without lost time injury in the workplace.

The landmark achievement was acknowledged during the launch of the second package of the project here yesterday.

State Public Works Department (JKR) project head Wisil Lichok, who officiated at the launch, congratulated Ibraco Construction Sdn Bhd, the project contractor, for the achievement.

“Hopefully this achievement will be maintained until the airport construction is completed,” he said.

He added that the new airport located some 7km from the town would have a positive impact on the residents and especially in the development of the local economy.

It is within close proximity to Mukah Polytechnic and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Mukah Campus.
