SAHA to hold c’ship in four S’wak zones

KUCHING: The Handball Association of Sarawak (SAHA) will hold a handball championship simultaneously in conjunction with the pre-Championship Sarawak Games (SUKSAR) 2017

SAHA general secretary, Dr Abang Ismail Abang Haji Julhi said through a discussion held recently, they decided to hold it simultaneously involving four different zones.

“We will organise the pre-Championship SUKSAR 2017 that will involve four zones which will be divided later in August,” said Dr Abang Ismail.

He added that there will be a competition for the northern zone which will be held in Miri, including Limbang and Bintulu and Miri divisions .

The central zone which will be held in Sibu as the hosts and will involve Sibu, Kapit and Mukah divisions.

“Meanwhile for the eastern zone, it will be held in Betong, which also involve two other divisions – Sarikei and Sri Aman.

“For the southern zone with Samarahan as the hosts including Kuching, Samarahan and Serian divisions,” added Dr Abang Ismail.

According to him, the winners of each zone will compete in the final round of Sarawak Games 2017 scheduled in December.

Dr Abang Ismail said the tournament is being held as an early approach and initiative to search for potential players to represent Sarawak in Sukma 2018 in Perak.
