KOTA SAMARAHAN: The recent Samarahan E-Sports event served as a vibrant platform for young gamers to display their skills and passion.

Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) Datuk Rubiah Wang underscored the profound impact of technology on the escalating popularity of video games, cultivating a distinct and devoted fan base.

In her speech, Rubiah stressed that the event not only celebrates local cultures like the Bugis in Sadong Jaya but also underscores the significance of preserving heritage for forthcoming generations.

“Culture is something we need to preserve for future generations, and it is undeniable that the tourism and cultural sectors play a crucial role in economic development, aligning with the current economy.

“I hope that these events not only showcase the diverse cultures but also provide a competitive gaming experience, especially for the youth in the Samarahan, preparing them physically, mentally, and skill-wise for more challenging competitions in the future,” Rubiah said.
