Collapsed road’s restored.

MIRI: The Long Pillah-Long Miri road which collapsed recently has been repaired by Samling Group of Companies.

Last Sunday, following heavy rain, a portion of the road which connects Long Pillah to Long Miri leading all the way to upper Baram collapsed.

Following the incident, Samling immediately mobilised their men and 10 units of machinery to start restoration works on Monday morning and by mid-day, four-wheel drive vehicles and small trucks were able to use the road with on-going repair works.

The road is now passable.

The road was fully repaired and accessible to all vehicles by mid-day on Tuesday.

Samling chief operating officer, James Ho (pic), said that they are mindful that road infrastructure in the rural area is very important as it connects not only to the villagers staying in the upper Baram region, but also to those who are commuting.

“We are always ready to assist the local communities in our area of operations,” he said in a statement.
